 In today’s digital world, critical thinking and media literacy are more important than ever. For me, critical thinking means being able to analyze, question, and understand information before accepting it as truth. It’s about thinking deeply, not just believing everything we hear or see. Media literacy, on the other hand, is the ability to access, interpret, evaluate, and create media messages. It helps us to be aware of how media influences our thoughts, emotions, and even our decisions. Mass media like television, news, radio, and social media are powerful tools that shape public opinion. They don’t just inform us; they also persuade us, entertain us, and sometimes even manipulate us.   Justice or Revenge? My Opinion on Crime and Punishment in Colombia Crime and punishment is a topic that brings many opinions and emotions. In every country, laws exist to protect citizens and punish those who break them. In Colombia, we have a justice system with punishments like prison, fines, and community service. However, there is a lot of debate about whether these punishments are effective. One of the most controversial topics is the death penalty. In Colombia, the death penalty is not allowed. Personally, I agree with that. I believe that taking someone’s life as a punishment does not bring real justice. It’s not a solution to violence, and it can also lead to terrible mistakes if the wrong person is convicted. Instead, I think the focus should be on education, rehabilitation, and prevention.
